Description
The Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) have officially released the results of the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2025. Candidates who appeared for the exam can now access their scores and download their rank cards by logging into the official website using their registered user ID and password.
Candidates who secured at least one mark in the examination have been assigned ranks. However, obtaining a rank does not automatically ensure admission to any IISER.
The entrance test was conducted in May 2025 in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format. Ahead of the result declaration, the final answer key was released. The IAT 2025 served as the qualifying examination for admission into various undergraduate science programs including the 5-year BS-MS (Dual Degree), 4-year BS, and BTech courses offered at IISERs located in Berhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram, and Tirupati.
The exam consisted of 60 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) 15 each from Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics – carrying a total of 240 marks. The test lasted for 180 minutes. Candidates earned 4 marks for each correct answer, while 1 mark was deducted for every incorrect response.

IISERs will now commence the counselling process for admission. Candidates are required to fill out their academic preference forms between 5 PM on June 26 and 5 PM on July 3, 2025.
Admission offers will be made based on seat availability in a given round, the candidate’s rank, their submitted preferences, and the applicable reservation category. Once an offer is made, candidates must either accept or decline the seat within the stipulated deadline. Those who reject the offer or fail to respond will be disqualified from participating in subsequent counselling rounds.
