In a significant move to enhance the accessibility and safety of blood transfusion services, the Union Health Ministry is planning to integrate India’s Rare Donor Registry with e-RaktKosh the national digital platform for blood bank management and blood availability. This integration aims to streamline blood services by ensuring faster identification and utilization of rare blood group donors across the country.
About e-RaktKosh
e-RaktKosh is a centralized, web-based blood bank management application developed by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) under the National Health Mission (NHM). It serves as the official digital infrastructure for managing all aspects of blood services in India.
Currently, over 3,800 blood centres across India are registered on the platform, offering real-time data on blood availability, donor information, and blood donation camps.
