India Post Payments Bank is a wholly government-owned public sector bank operating under the Department of Posts, which falls under the Ministry of Communications. Accepting Deposits: IPPB allows customers to deposit up to Rupees 2 lakh in a savings or current account. If deposits exceed this limit, the excess is automatically redirected to a linked post office savings account.
Money Transfers and Remittance Services: Customers can send and receive funds across the country using simple digital interfaces.
Digital Payment Solutions: Including bill payments, mobile and DTH recharge, and merchant payments via QR codes.
Banking Access Points: Services are available through counter services at post offices, micro-ATMs, mobile banking apps, SMS services, and Interactive Voice Response Systems (IVRS).
Secure Access with Aadhaar and QR Cards: Account opening and transaction authentication are Aadhaar-enabled. Customers are provided with a QR code card and biometric verification ensures secure transactions, eliminating the need to remember passwords or PINs.
