In a significant boost to Iran’s civilian nuclear infrastructure, Russia has agreed to construct eight new nuclear power reactors within Iran’s territory. This decision is part of an earlier bilateral agreement and was formally announced by Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI), during a visit by members of the Iranian parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee to the AEOI headquarters in Tehran.
This development comes as part of Iran’s broader vision to substantially enhance its nuclear energy production and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
