Overview Of IndiaAI Mission
The IndiaAI Mission was originally launched in 2023 as a collaborative initiative between the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and NASSCOM, the industry body representing India’s technology sector. This national-level program is designed to create a robust ecosystem for AI research, innovation, and application, particularly by empowering Indian startups and academic institutions.
The mission is guided by two core objectives:
“Make AI in India”: Foster the development of AI technologies and solutions within the country.

Implementing Body: IndiaAI
The implementation of the IndiaAI Mission is overseen by IndiaAI, a newly established, independent business division under MeitY. It serves as the nodal agency to coordinate efforts, allocate resources, and support startups and institutions in AI research and development.
