The Indian Air Force (IAF) has officially opened the registration window for AFCAT 2025 starting Monday, June 2, 2025. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 2025 (02/2025 batch) through the official portal. The last date for submitting applications is July 1, 2025.
This recruitment drive aims to fill approximately 283 vacancies for Short Service Commission (SSC) positions in the Flying Branch as well as the Ground Duty Branches, which include both Technical and Non-Technical roles.
AFCAT 2025 Exam Dates
The AFCAT examination is scheduled to be held over two days, on August 23 and August 24, 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
Applicants must be Indian citizens as defined by the Indian Citizenship Act of 1955.
Age Limits
For Flying Branch candidates applying through AFCAT and NCC Special Entry, the age range is between 20 and 24 years as of July 1, 2026. (Born between July 2, 2002, and July 1, 2006, inclusive.) However, candidates holding a valid and current Commercial Pilot License (CPL) issued by DGCA, India, have an upper age limit relaxable to 26 years.
For Ground Duty Branches (Technical and Non-Technical), candidates must be between 20 and 26 years as of July 1, 2026.
Marital Status
Applicants must be unmarried at the time the course begins, and marriage is not allowed during the training period. Candidates who marry during training will be discharged and required to refund all government expenses incurred.
Date of Birth Proof
The IAF accepts the date of birth as recorded in the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate or an equivalent certificate recognized by an Indian University. No other documents such as horoscopes, affidavits, birth extracts from municipal authorities, or service records will be accepted. Incorrect DOB entries that do not match the official certificates will lead to disqualification at any stage.

Application Fee
Applicants need to pay a non-refundable fee of Rupees 550 plus applicable GST. However, candidates applying through the NCC Special Entry scheme are exempt from the fee.
