About Sukhoi Su-57E

Key features include stealth technology, high manoeuvrability, and advanced avionics. A standout weapon system is the R-37M long-range missile, which can engage targets up to 400 km away. Export Strategy And Ongoing Challenges
Russia has identified several prospective buyers for the Su-57E, including India, Malaysia, and Algeria. Algeria is frequently mentioned as a likely early buyer, but no official agreement has been disclosed to date.
India Withdrawal From Joint Development
India was initially involved in a collaborative programme with Russia to develop a fifth-generation jet under the FGFA (Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft) project. However, India exited the venture in 2018, citing concerns over cost, technology transfer, and delivery delays. Although Russia continues to pursue Indian interest with offers of early delivery schedules and local manufacturing under the Make in India scheme, New Delhi has yet to show renewed interest or make any commitments.
Malaysia’s Air Force Modernisation Plans
Malaysia’s Multi-Role Combat Aircraft (MRCA) programme aims to phase out ageing MiG-29s and enhance its air defence capabilities. While earlier evaluations included several fourth-generation platforms, the emphasis is gradually shifting to more advanced systems.
