Description

In a significant move to bolster regional industries and support local artisans, the Uttar Pradesh government has expanded its flagship One District One Product (ODOP) scheme by adding 12 new products, bringing the total to 74 products across the state's 75 districts. This initiative is part of the state's broader vision to transform its economy into a $1 trillion powerhouse by 2029, while promoting traditional craftsmanship, enhancing exports, and generating local employment.

The ODOP scheme, first launched in 2018 by the Yogi Adityanath government, aims to revive traditional industries by providing targeted support to district-specific products. This latest expansion, announced in May 2025, reflects the state's commitment to fostering local entrepreneurship and scaling up small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). With these new additions, the scheme is expected to further strengthen Uttar Pradesh's position as a leading manufacturing and export hub, aligning with the broader goals of Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) and the Make in India initiative.

Newly Included Products (May 2025)
