Description
The COMEDK Undergraduate Entrance Test (UGET) 2025, initially slated for May 10, has been deferred in select cities following instructions from the Indian government under 'Operation Sindoor.'
Impacted Test Cities
The affected locations include:
Gujarat: Jamnagar (Test City Code: 26428)
Jammu and Kashmir: Srinagar (14126), Jammu (7994)
Punjab: Ludhiana (14458), Bathinda (1686), Jalandhar (2288), Mohali (38190), Patiala (8756), Amritsar (8799)
Rajasthan: Jodhpur (16596), Bikaner (8665), Sriganganagar (28906)
Approximately 3,000 students were set to take the entrance exam at these centers. In line with the government's directive, educational institutions in these cities have been temporarily closed. Revised exam dates for the impacted locations will be announced in due course, according to a press release from COMEDK.
Communication To Affected Students
Dr. S Kumar, Secretary of COMEDK, stated, "We have directly communicated with all affected students, advising them not to panic. The exams will be rescheduled to a later date once we receive government clearance."
Students are urged to monitor the official websites for timely updates and further instructions.
Exams Unaffected In Other Cities
The examination will proceed as planned in all other locations on May 10, 2025, with the sessions and time slots specified on the Test Admission Tickets (TAT).
Key Details About COMEDK UGET 2025
Around 1.31 lakh students are registered for this year's COMEDK UGET, which provides admissions to engineering programs at private colleges in Karnataka and select pan-India member universities. Unlike previous years, the exam was moved from its traditional second Sunday in May to a Saturday to avoid a conflict with another major exam.
