Mazin Mansoor – AIIMS Delhi
Hailing from Darbhanga, Bihar, Mazin Mansoor secured a perfect 720/720 in NEET UG 2024 in his very first attempt. The 18-year-old comes from a lineage of doctors his father, a paediatrician, serves in a government hospital in Saudi Arabia, and both sides of his family have several medical professionals.
Initially, Mazin followed the order of biology, chemistry, and physics while taking mock exams. However, he later revised his strategy and began with chemistry, followed by biology and then physics. He found this sequence more effective during actual practice.
Tathagat Awatar – AIIMS Delhi
From Madhubani district in Bihar, Tathagat Awatar achieved a score of 715 and a percentile of 99.9946856 in his third attempt. His journey began in 2022 with a score of 526, followed by a better performance in 2023 that still left him striving for more. Realising the need for a new strategy, he altered his section-solving approach for his third attempt.
Tathagat focused heavily on practice, completing over 100 full mock tests. During the actual exam, he started with biology, then tackled physics and chemistry an approach that worked well for him under time constraints.
Amina Kadiwal – AIIMS Bhopal
Mumbai-based Amina Kadiwal succeeded in her third attempt, scoring 715 in NEET UG 2024. Reflecting on her preparation, she credited her disciplined routine during the COVID-19 lockdown. Daily revision, handwritten notes, and consistent use of NCERT textbooks formed the backbone of her study plan.
She approached the exam in two phases first solving the questions she was confident about, then marking the answers on the OMR sheet only after cross-verifying them.
Expert Advice From Mentors
Ujjwal Singh, CEO of Infinity Learn by Sri Chaitanya, emphasized the importance of calm execution. “Effective preparation translates into confident performance,” he said. He advised candidates to avoid revisiting new or challenging topics at the last minute. Instead, students should review errors from previous mock tests to strengthen their weak points.
