Description

The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell, Maharashtra has officially announced the cancellation and re-conduct of the MHT-CET 2024 examination held on April 27, 2024 (Sunday) in the morning session. This decision follows several grievances submitted by candidates and their parents citing technical issues during the test, which reportedly hampered their performance.

As per the notice issued by the CET Cell, the affected exam session has been declared null and void, and a fresh examination will now be held on May 5, 2025. The re-examination is being organized to ensure fairness and maintain the integrity of the testing process.

Re-Appear

A list of candidates who appeared for the April 27 morning session will be published on the official website of the CET Cell. Only those candidates listed will be eligible and required to appear for the re-examination.

Furthermore, revised admit cards for this rescheduled exam will be made available through candidate logins, and candidates are advised to download the new hall tickets once released.

About MHT-CET 2024

The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) 2024 for the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) group was conducted between April 19 and April 27, excluding April 24. The exam was held in two shifts each day:

  • Morning shift: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

  • Afternoon shift: 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM

The examination is conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across various centers in Maharashtra’s district headquarters and capital cities of select other Indian states including:

  • Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.

These centers were designated based on the concentration of candidates from each region, ensuring ease of access for aspirants located outside Maharashtra.

What Candidates Should Do Next

All affected candidates are advised to:

  • Regularly check updates on the official website.

  • Download the updated admit card once available.

  • Prepare accordingly for the re-examination on May 5, 2025.

  • Ensure system readiness and familiarity with CBT format to avoid similar challenges.

This proactive step by the CET Cell reflects its commitment to conducting transparent and glitch-free examinations, ensuring equal opportunities for all aspirants aiming for admission into engineering and technology courses across Maharashtra.
