Extensive Utilisation: The systems have recorded between 85% to 95% usage, supporting over 10,000 researchers and 1,700+ PhD scholars from more than 200 institutions.
Massive Computing Output: Over 1 crore computational jobs have been completed, resulting in the publication of 1,500+ peer-reviewed research papers, significantly contributing to scientific output.
Human Resource Development: Over 22,000 individuals have received hands-on training in HPC and Artificial Intelligence through five National Supercomputing Centres located in Pune, Chennai, Kharagpur, Palakkad, and Goa.
Indigenisation And Infrastructure Development
A core aim of NSM is the development of indigenous technology for self-sufficiency in supercomputing. Key accomplishments include:
“Rudra” Servers: India’s first indigenously designed and manufactured HPC-class servers, developed under NSM to match international standards.

The AIRAWAT PoC system delivers 200 AI petaflops of computing power, and is designed to be scalable up to 790 AI petaflops.

In 2023, AIRAWAT was ranked 75th globally in the prestigious TOP500 list of supercomputers, announced at the International Supercomputing Conference (ISC) in Germany—marking a major achievement for India in AI-based HPC.

PARAM Shivay (2019): Installed at IIT-BHU, it was the first supercomputer deployed under NSM.
