Description
The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has released the notification for the Group IV Services recruitment and invited applications for direct recruitment through the Combined Services Examination-IV. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications online by visiting the official website at tnpsc.gov.in before May 24, 2025. The TNPSC Group IV recruitment offers 3,935 vacancies across different posts, including 25 varied positions such as:
Village Administrative Officer (215 vacancies)
Junior Assistant (Non-Security) - 1,621 vacancies
Junior Revenue Inspector (239 vacancies)
Typist (1,099 vacancies)
Steno Typist (Grade III)
Forest Guard, among others.
Steps To Apply
First visit the official website.
Locate the "Apply Online" section and select "Group-IV" for the relevant exam.
Provide details like email and mobile number for OTR (One Time Registration).
Use your OTR credentials to fill out the application form.
Complete the TNPSC Application Form for 2025.
Upload scanned documents as required.
Pay the application fee.
Review and submit the application form, and download it for future reference.
Examination Fee
OTR Fee: Rupees 150 (valid for 5 years).
Examination Fee: Rupees 100.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: Candidates must refer to the official notification as the requirements vary by post. Some positions may require specific technical qualifications, while others require a general education degree.
Age Limit (as of 01.07.2025):
General Category: 18 to 32 years.
BC/MBC/SC/ST: Up to 37 years (or no upper age limit if holding higher qualifications).
Forest Posts: Discharged Defence personnel must be below 32 years (general) or 37 years (reserved categories).
Exam Pattern
The TNPSC Group IV exam consists of 200 questions that candidates must answer within three hours. The exam is divided into three parts:
Part A: 100 questions on Tamil Eligibility cum scoring test (150 marks).
Part B: 75 questions on General Studies (150 marks).
Part C: 25 questions on Aptitude and Mental Ability (150 marks combined with Part B).
Candidates must score at least 40% in Part A for evaluation in Parts B and C. The overall marks from all three sections are used to determine the final ranking.
