Description
The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have officially announced the exam date for the RRB JE 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-II). Candidates who are eligible for the second stage examination can now view the detailed schedule on the respective official websites of the regional RRBs.
The CBT 2 exam is scheduled to take place on April 22, 2025. The examination will be conducted for a duration of 120 minutes and will consist of 150 objective-type multiple-choice questions. The paper will cover the following topics:
General Awareness
Physics and Chemistry
Basics of Computers and Applications
Basics of Environment and Pollution Control
Technical Abilities relevant to the post applied for
A virtual calculator will be available on the screen for candidates during the examination.
Additionally, the exam city and date information will be released on the official websites of RRBs 10 days before the exam. The e-call letters (admit cards) will be available for download 4 days prior to the exam date mentioned in the exam city and date notice.
The shortlisting of candidates for CBT 2 is based on the normalized marks obtained in the CBT 1 examination.
RRB JE 2025 Selection Process
The recruitment process involves the following stages:
First Stage Computer-Based Test (CBT-I)
Second Stage Computer-Based Test (CBT-II)
Document Verification (DV)
Medical Examination (ME)
An important point to note is that Aadhaar-linked biometric verification will be carried out at the exam center. Candidates must carry their original Aadhaar card or a printout of their e-Aadhaar with verified QR code.

Through this recruitment drive, the RRBs aim to fill a total of 7,951 vacancies, which include:
17 posts for Chemical Supervisor/Research and Metallurgical Supervisor/Research
7,934 posts for Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent, and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant
