The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has significantly increased the cash rewards for the top five rank holders in the Intermediate (Class 12) final examination. This year, students securing the first position in each of the three streams Science, Arts, and Commerce will receive Rupees 2 lakh, doubling the previous reward of Rupees 1 lakh. Similarly, second-rank holders will be awarded Rupees 1.5 lakh instead of Rupees 75,000, while those securing third place will get Rupees 1 lakh instead of Rupees 50,000.
Students ranked fourth and fifth will now receive Rupees 30,000 each, up from Rupees 15,000. Additionally, the board will continue to provide laptops, certificates, and medals to the top-performing students.
Revised Scholarship Under Dr. Rajendra Prasad Merit Scheme
The BSEB has also revised the scholarship amounts under the Desh Ratna Dr. Rajendra Prasad Merit Scholarship Scheme. Under this initiative, the top five rank holders in each stream will now receive Rupees 2,500 per month, an increase from the previous Rupees 1,500 per month. The scholarship duration will vary based on the length of the recipient’s chosen course—three, four, or five years.
