Description
On National Science Day, Shiv Nadar University, located in Delhi-NCR, announced the introduction of a one-year post-baccalaureate/postgraduate certificate program in Life Sciences Research. The program will have an intake of up to 20 students in its first cohort. Interested candidates can begin submitting applications from mid-March 2025. The program will be led by 20 distinguished faculty members, who will offer mentorship and interdisciplinary guidance across various life sciences fields.
Eligibility Criteria
The program is open to graduates with a BSc, BTech, or equivalent degrees, with a minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA of 6/10, who are keen to pursue a career in scientific research.
Professor Ananya Mukherjee, Vice-Chancellor of Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR, stated, “We aim to foster a culture of inquiry and innovation. This program is designed to enhance research capabilities in life sciences and strengthen India's contribution to global scientific progress. By offering students a chance to work on real-world challenges in a lab environment, we are preparing them for impactful careers in academia, industry, and beyond.”
Professor Sanjeev Galande, Dean of the School of Natural Sciences, added, “The program offers a practical research experience that complements theoretical learning. Through advanced laboratory techniques and involvement in ongoing research projects, students will gain crucial expertise, positioning them as competitive candidates for top PhD programs and research roles.”
Scholarships
Merit-based scholarships of INR 1 Lakh will be awarded to the top 4 selected students, recognizing their academic excellence.
The program will cover seven key thematic research areas, including Age & Metabolism, Disease Pathogenesis & Therapeutics, Plant and Agricultural Biotechnology & Sustainability, Neuroscience, and Brain & Cognition.
