The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) will conduct the Class 10 (ICSE) board examinations from February 18 to March 27, 2025. The exams will commence with the English Language - English Paper 1, starting at 11 AM and lasting for two hours. Students appearing for the ICSE exams must adhere to the following instructions provided by the council:
Arrival Time - Candidates must be seated in the examination hall at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time.
Leaving the Exam Room - Candidates will not be permitted to leave the hall before the exam concludes.
Handling Missing Materials - If a map or other necessary materials are not provided, students must inform the supervising examiner immediately.
Reading Instructions - Candidates should carefully read any instructions given on the first page of the question paper, such as how many questions to attempt.
Question Numbering - Candidates should answer only the number of questions indicated in the question paper.
Identification - Candidates must write their Unique ID, Index Number, and Subject clearly on the top-sheet of the Main Answer Booklet, as well as on the front sheet of each continuation booklet, and any additional materials like maps or graph papers.
Writing Materials - All entries on the Answer Booklet must be made using a Black or Blue ink pen only. Candidates must not scribble on the top-sheet.
Answering Guidelines - Candidates must write on both sides of each sheet, unless instructed otherwise. A margin must be left on both the left and right edges of the answer sheet. Each part of a question should be started on a new line, and the question number should be written clearly in the left-hand margin at the start of each answer.
Neatness - Neat handwriting and correct spelling are important. While pens in Black or Blue ink are required for writing, pencils may be used only for diagrams. Drawing and mathematical instruments, as well as color pencils, are allowed for relevant subjects. However, electronic devices or calculators are strictly prohibited.
Reading Time - Candidates will be given 15 minutes of reading time in addition to the allotted writing time.
Time Management - Students should carefully read each question and avoid writing unnecessary information, as it will not earn marks. They should also manage their time efficiently and avoid spending too long on any one question.
Continuation Booklets - If needed, candidates can request additional booklets once they have filled all the pages of the current booklet. All used and unused continuation booklets must be attached to the Main Answer Booklet.
Rough Work - Any rough work must be done on the same sheet as the rest of the answers.
Final Submission - Once the exam time is over, candidates must arrange their answer sheets in sequential order with the first page on top. The Main Answer Booklet, continuation booklets, and any other materials should have the correct UID, Index Number, and Subject marked on them. All papers should be fastened together at the left-hand corner and handed in unfolded.
The ICSE results are expected to be declared in May 2025.
