Objectives

The program aims to strengthen democracy, foster discipline, encourage tolerance of diverse views, and familiarize students with parliamentary practices. It also seeks to enhance participants' understanding of government functioning, constitutional values, and democratic living.

Ways To Participate

The NYPS 2.0 offers three participation categories for citizens:

  • Institutional Participation - Educational institutions can engage by organizing Youth Parliament sessions following guidelines available on the portal. Students in classes VI to XII can participate in the "Kishore Sabha," while undergraduates and postgraduates are eligible for the "Tarun Sabha."

  • Group Participation - Groups of citizens can also join by arranging Youth Parliament sittings in line with the portal's guidelines.

  • Individual Participation - Individuals can take part by attempting a quiz centered on the theme "Bhartiya Democracy in Action."

Training And Resources

The portal offers various training materials such as literature on Youth Parliament, model debates, sample questions, model scripts, and video tutorials to guide participants.
