Description
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a notice regarding the implementation of the APAAR ID as the primary identifier for students in affiliated schools. The official notice can be accessed on the CBSE website. According to the notice, the process for implementing the APAAR ID in schools will follow six steps, as outlined below:
Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) - Schools must organize PTMs to introduce the APAAR ID system. During these meetings, the significance and advantages of the APAAR ID will be explained to both parents and students.
Distribution and Collection of Consent Forms - Schools are required to distribute physical consent forms to parents. These forms need to be signed by parents to authorize the use of Aadhaar details for generating the APAAR ID.
Verification of Student Data - School authorities will verify student details such as name, date of birth, and Aadhaar number on the UDISE+ portal to ensure accuracy.
Generation of APAAR IDs - Once the student details are verified, schools will generate the APAAR IDs through the UDISE+ portal. These IDs will be securely linked to the students' Digilocker accounts. After the generation, a confirmation SMS will be sent to the parents.
Distribution and Integration - Schools will provide the APAAR IDs to both students and parents.
Error Resolution - In case of any errors or discrepancies in the details, schools will guide parents to Common Service Centres (CSCs) to make the necessary corrections.
The CBSE has also developed an online monitoring system called "APAAR ID Monitoring (AIM)" to track the creation of APAAR IDs in affiliated schools. Additionally, a toll-free helpline number (1800-889-3511) has been activated to assist schools with any queries related to the process. In other news, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has clarified that the APAAR ID is not required for NEET UG 2025 registrations. Candidates can continue their registration using other available methods, with further details to be shared soon.
