Description
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced on Thursday that it has issued show-cause notices to 29 schools for breaching affiliation bye-laws. These schools were subject to surprise inspections in December, during which it was discovered that many had enrollment irregularities, including enrolling students beyond their actual attendance numbers and endorsing non-attending enrollments. Additionally, the schools were found to have failed to meet academic and infrastructural standards.
In response to these violations, CBSE emphasized that it takes the matter seriously and has sent show-cause notices to all 29 schools. Each institution has received a copy of the inspection report and has been asked to provide a response within 30 days. Among the 29 schools, 18 are located in Delhi, 3 in Uttar Pradesh, 2 each in Karnataka, Bihar, Gujarat, and Chhattisgarh.
