The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has introduced a Certificate Programme in Generative AI to cater to the growing global demand for expertise in this rapidly advancing field. Offered through IIT Delhi’s Continuing Education Programme (CEP), this advanced six-month course is designed to provide professionals with comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in artificial intelligence (AI).
The programme focuses extensively on advanced AI techniques, with particular emphasis on Large Language Models (LLMs) like GPT, BERT, and T5. Participants will also explore emerging areas such as Reinforcement Learning with Human Feedback (RLHF), Vision-Language Models (VLMs), and the ethical deployment of AI technologies.
The curriculum consists of six specialized modules, including topics like Mathematical Foundations for Machine Learning (ML), ML, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Generative AI for Text, Generative AI for Vision, and Responsible AI. Students will gain practical experience with leading tools and technologies, including Python, NumPy, Pandas, PyTorch, and TensorFlow. They will also master NLP libraries like NLTK and spaCy to efficiently process and analyze data.
Delivered via live online interactive sessions in a Direct-to-Device (D2D) format, the programme will incorporate real-world case studies, simulations, projects, and assignments to ensure an industry-relevant learning experience. Additionally, participants will enjoy a one-day campus immersion at IIT Delhi, providing them with exposure to the institution's academic and research excellence.
Professor Tanmoy Chakraborty, Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Rajiv Khemani Young Faculty Chair Professor in AI at IIT Delhi, highlighted that this programme will equip professionals with the advanced skills needed to position India as a global AI leader.
