The Karnataka government has announced an ambitious initiative to develop SWIFT City, located near Sarjapur in Bengaluru. This project is designed to bolster the state’s start-up ecosystem and establish Bengaluru as a premier industrial hub. This announcement follows the recent unveiling of KWIN City, highlighting the government's strong focus on fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.

Project Details

SWIFT City will span over 1,000 acres and is intended to support start-ups, aiming to replicate the success of established industrial hubs like ITPL and Electronic City. Positioned as a key center for technology and innovation, the city will play a crucial role in shaping Bengaluru's future.

The development will benefit from excellent connectivity, linking directly to National Highways 44 and 48. The city will feature wide 150-meter roads, modern office spaces, co-working hubs, and a variety of residential areas. Educational institutions and other amenities will also be incorporated, making it a well-rounded space for both work and living.

Facilities For Start-ups

SWIFT City will include 8 to 10 plug-and-play facilities, each covering 20–25 acres. Start-ups will have access to flexible land parcels ranging from 5,000 to 20,000 square feet. These spaces will be available through lease agreements, sale, or equity-sharing options, offering multiple avenues for businesses to set up operations.

In addition to SWIFT City, the government plans to extend its vision by creating five mini KWIN cities across Karnataka. Locations such as Vijayapura and Hubballi-Dharwad are being considered, with the goal of replicating Bengaluru’s success in other parts of the state.
