Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has begun accepting applications for admission to its PhD programs for the academic year 2024-25. Candidates seeking admission through NET (UGC-CSIR), JRF, or GATE (for the School of Engineering) can submit their applications online via the JNU official website. The last date to submit applications is December 2, 2024.

Before applying, candidates are encouraged to carefully review the e-prospectus for PhD programs available on the university website. This will provide details on eligibility criteria, seat availability, and other important information.
Candidates applying through NET (UGC-CSIR), JRF, or GATE must submit separate applications for each category. After the application window closes, there will be an opportunity to make corrections to the application forms from December 3 to 4, 2024.

Documents Required for Viva-Voce:
Candidates attending the viva-voce examination should bring the following documents:
Testimonials from two individuals, including at least one former teacher.
A list of subjects or papers taken by the candidate.
A copy of the candidate's most representative published paper, if available.
A brief note outlining the candidate’s research interests and professional goals.
A research proposal to be presented during the viva-voce.
Self-attested printout of the NET (UGC/CSIR/GATE) scorecard.
Self-attested JRF certificate (if applying under the JRF category), valid for the dates specified on the certificate.
Foreign nationals must submit a Statement of Purpose (SoP) for PhD admission.
