The Bihar Cabinet has recently approved a new initiative called ‘Mahila Samwad’, aimed at empowering women in rural areas by educating them about government policies. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and other state officials will engage directly with women across districts, with an allocation of Rupees 225 crore for the programme.
Programme Objective
The key objective of ‘Mahila Samwad’ is to inform women about state policies that focus on their empowerment and enhance their role in society. The Bihar Cabinet has allocated Rupees 225.78 crore to fund the ‘Mahila Samwad’ programme. Related Decision On Ex-Gratia Payment
In a separate but related decision, the Bihar Cabinet has increased the ex-gratia payment for the families of soldiers who have fallen in the line of duty. The payment has been raised from Rupees 11 lakh to Rupees 21 lakh, benefiting both soldiers from Bihar and those martyred within the state.
