Description
The Government of India has introduced a new initiative to engage the nation’s youth in national development, called the “Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue.” This new platform will replace the National Youth Festival starting in 2025, in line with the Prime Minister's vision of increasing youth participation in shaping the future of the country.
Objectives Of The Dialogue
The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue aims to identify and cultivate young talent, offering them a platform to directly present their ideas to the Prime Minister. The initiative is designed to encourage political and social engagement among youth, particularly those without prior political affiliations. The goal is to involve one lakh young individuals in the national development process.
Overview Of The Viksit Bharat Challenge
The Viksit Bharat Challenge is a four-phase competition that invites young people to participate by submitting ideas for the country progress. The challenge will be conducted in four stages: a quiz, essay writing, state-level presentations, and a national championship.
Round 1 - Viksit Bharat Quiz
The first stage will feature an online digital quiz open to youth aged 15 to 29 years. Running from November 25 to December 5, 2024, the quiz will test participants' knowledge of India's achievements and milestones.
Round 2 - Essay/Blog Writing
The top scorers from the quiz will move on to the second round, where they will be asked to submit essays or blogs on themes such as “Tech for Viksit Bharat”. The focus will be on how technology can empower youth and contribute to India’s development.
Round 3 - State Level Presentations
The winners of the essay round will advance to state-level competitions, where they will present their ideas. The best ideas from each state will be selected for the national stage, providing a platform for youth from diverse regions to showcase their innovative thinking.
Round 4 - National Championship
The final round of the competition will take place at Bharat Mandapam in January 2025. Here, the top winners from each state will compete, presenting their ideas directly to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Key Features Of The Festival
The Viksit Bharat Festival will bring together around 3,000 youth participants including competition winners, state-level representatives, and youth icons. The festival will feature several important activities such as-
Viksit Bharat Exhibition - Showcasing India’s achievements and youth-driven innovations.
Plenary Sessions - Discussions and presentations focusing on youth empowerment and national development.
Cultural Performances - Celebrating India’s rich cultural heritage while emphasizing the role of youth in shaping the future.
This initiative is designed to provide young people with an influential platform to voice their ideas and contribute to India’s journey toward becoming a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
