The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has introduced a special stray vacancy round for the NEET UG Counselling 2024 to fill vacant MBBS and BDS seats left unfilled due to candidates' non-joining. Only those candidates who have already applied for the MBBS and BDS programs will be eligible to participate in this round.

It is important to note that there will be no fresh registrations for this special stray vacancy round. However, candidates can now proceed to fill in their preferences and submit the required fee starting from November 20, 2024.

Special Stray Vacancy Round 2024 Schedule And Requirements

For candidates wishing to participate in the special stray vacancy round, the following conditions apply-

• Security Deposit

• Candidates opting for government seats under the All India Quota (AIQ) must pay a refundable security deposit of Rupees 50,000.

• Candidates who have applied for deemed universities must pay a refundable security deposit of Rupees 3 lakh to be eligible to participate.

• Candidates are advised to check the full schedule and complete the necessary steps within the given timelines to secure their seats in this round.

"Refundable Security Deposit of candidates who do not join the seats allotted to them in Special Stray Vacancy Round will be Forfeited and they will not be eligible to take the NEET UG exam for next year i.e 2025,” the MCC said.
