About The Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile

• It is meant to be launched from both mobile ground-based systems and frontline ships via a universal vertical launch module, increasing its operational versatility.

• It can also do intricate acrobatics while flying at various speeds and altitudes, demonstrating the missile's versatility and accuracy.

• The LRLACM is outfitted with cutting-edge avionics and software, which improves its performance and reliability.

• These missiles are often subsonic and can follow terrain-hugging flight routes, making them more difficult to identify and intercept, providing a strategic advantage in penetrating enemy defenses.

• The LRLACM was created by DRDO's Aeronautical Development Establishment in Bengaluru and is the outcome of collaboration between various DRDO laboratories and Indian industries.

• Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) in Hyderabad and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) in Bengaluru acted as development and production partners.

• The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) has already accepted LRLACM as a Mission Mode Project under the Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) procedure.
