Description

BITS Law School in Mumbai began applications for admission to its five-year integrated law studies beginning in 2025 on November 11. Eligible and interested candidates can apply through the official website.

Admissions have started for the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programs at the BITS Pilani, Mumbai Campus, with 120 and 60 seats, respectively, according to a press announcement.

The curricula were prepared in accordance with the criteria of the Bar Council of India and are also recognized by it. The curriculum is modern and fosters cross-disciplinary thinking.

The programs also include four popular specialisations: Technology and Media Law, Corporate and Financial Law, Entertainment and Sports Law, and Alternative Dispute Resolution and Mediation.

Dr. Ashish Bharadwaj, Founding Dean of BITS Law School, stated that the institution's objective is to help students explore new ideas, challenges, and solutions in law and beyond.

He added, “BITSLAW is advancing research and thought leadership in upcoming and unresolved issues in technology & media law, which is one of the four specialisations we offer.

Meanwhile, the university stated that the curriculum is based on a 5-tier learning pyramid, which are as follows-

  • 'Workplace Readiness': mastering data skills, time management, and professional ethics

  • 'Learning Beyond the Curriculum' promotes cultural enrichment and exposure to the fine arts.

  • The 'Mentor-Mentee Program' provides specialized mentorship for each student as they navigate their residential campus life.

  • The 'Writing Centre' teaches critical thinking, interpretation, and legal writing abilities.

  • Academically Adrift students can benefit from remedial classes that assist them overcome scholastic obstacles in a tailored manner.

Admission Process

The admission process at BITS Law School is based on the following parameters of a candidate-

  • Academic records (10th and 12th grade scores).

  • Law entrance exams scores of CLAT, LNAT, AILET, SLAT, MHCET LAW, or BLAT (BITS Law Admission Test).

  • Co/extra-curricular achievements.

  • Personal interview.

International Ties And Alumni Networks

BITS Law School also collaborates with University College Dublin's Sutherland School of Law, Pace University's Elisabeth Haub School of Law, and the University of New Hampshire's Franklin Pierce School of Law.

Furthermore, the BITSLAW faculty are alumni of prestigious universities such as the IITs, JNU, National Law Schools, and Delhi University in India; Warwick, Cambridge, Manchester, Leicester, Liverpool, Essex, and SOAS in the United Kingdom; Goethe Frankfurt, GIDS Geneva, Tilburg, Munich, and Max Planck Institute in Europe; Toronto, NYU, Columbia, Louisiana State, and Queen's University in North America; and Deakin and Monash in Australia, according to the institution.

Scholarships

BITS Law School provides scholarships for merit, finances, and diversity.

In addition, there are three special Birla Endowment Scholarships for Legal Studies. According to the report, more than half of all BITSLAW students receive some type of scholarship, ranging from 15% to 100% tuition remission.

Furthermore, the School has partnered with prominent public and private banks to offer educational loans at some of the lowest interest rates in the country.
