Tayyab Ikram has been re-elected as President of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) for a second term, marking a huge milestone for Pakistani hockey. At the 49th FIH Congress in Muscat, Oman, Ikram scored 79 votes out of 126, outperforming his Belgian counterpart, Marc Coudron, who received 47. His re-election not only demonstrates personal acknowledgment, but it also underlines Pakistan's growing position in international hockey.

Following the changeover from the Indonesian Hockey Association, the Indonesian Hockey Federation became a full member of the FIH. The Congress also adopted the 2021 audited accounts and changed various FIH Statutes, rejecting some requests from the European Hockey Federation (EHF).
