About UNICEF
The United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) was created in 1946, following World War II.
Mandate- To assist children and young people whose lives and prospects were jeopardised, regardless of their country's role in the conflict.
It works in over 190 nations and territories to protect the rights of all children.
Funding- UNICEF's work is fully supported by the voluntary contributions of millions of individuals worldwide, as well as our government, civil society, and commercial sector partners.
Awards- It was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1965, the Indira Gandhi Prize in 1989, and the Princess of Asturias Award in 2006.

Global initiatives-
In 2012, UNICEF collaborated with Save the Children and the United Nations Global Compact to create the Children's Rights and Business Principles, which now serve as the foundation for UNICEF's assistance to businesses.
