Telangana has created history by becoming the first state in India to establish a chapter of NITI Aayog's Women Entrepreneurship Platform. This initiative aims to assist women entrepreneurs by providing them with important tools, resources, and contacts for growing their businesses.

Mission And Vision

The WEP Telangana Chapter was officially launched in Hyderabad by BVR Subrahmanyam, CEO of NITI Aayog, and other government authorities. This platform aims to encourage women to start and expand businesses by providing resources such as digital skills, financial services, mentorship, and market opportunities. 

Function Of WE Hub

WE Hub, India's first incubator centre invested to supporting women entrepreneurs, will run the WEP in Telangana. WE Hub has a broad network and will use its resources to empower women in business by helping them develop their skills and find better business opportunities.

Importance For Economic Development

Mr. Subrahmanyam emphasised the importance of women's entrepreneurship for the development of the Indian economy. The WEP Telangana Chapter is intended to address some of the major problems that women entrepreneurs encounter, including as securing capital, finding mentors, and reaching markets. By addressing these challenges, the platform aims to help women in starting and growing successful businesses.

Future Plans For Expansion

Anna Roy, Principal Economic Advisor of NITI Aayog, stated that the WEP will be expanded to smaller cities, known as tier 2 and tier 3 cities, in the future. The purpose is to collaborate with other states to create a supportive atmosphere in which women entrepreneurs may thrive, allowing them to succeed in business.

We Bridge Initiative

The 'WE Bridge' initiative was launched as well, providing a single location for women entrepreneurs in Telangana to conveniently access capital, technology, and networking resources. This initiative intends to make it easier for women entrepreneurs to receive the support they require, allowing them to expand and innovate in their businesses.

Objectives Of The WEP Telangana Chapter

The WEP Telangana Chapter has three major objectives-

• Empower women with digital and financial abilities by teaching them key skills that will improve their business operations.

• Connect women entrepreneurs with industry experts: Provide mentorship from experienced business executives to help women expand their enterprises.

• Facilitate market access by connecting women entrepreneurs with investors and identifying business opportunities that will help them grow.

• This program seeks to foster an atmosphere in which women entrepreneurs can thrive, contributing not only to their own growth but also to the economic development of Telangana and beyond.
