According to latest reports, schools in Assam's Kamrup Metropolitan District, which includes Guwahati City, will resume regular school hours on, October 1, 2024. The decision was made in light of the reduction in temperature seen following hot conditions in the state. 

The District Elementary Education Officer issued an order withdrawing the September 20, 2024 announcement that imposed school timings in the region from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm due to the severe heat wave condition. 

In supersession of the earlier order, all government, provincialized, and private schools in Kamrup (Metro) District are commanded to resume regular school hours on October 1, 2024.
