Description
Saleema Imtiaz has made history by being the first Pakistani woman to be nominated to the ICC International Panel of Development Umpires, according to a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announcement issued on September 15.

The path has been filled with hard labor and personal sacrifices, but standing on the verge of a new chapter, it all feels worthwhile.
This is a win not only for me, but for every aspiring female cricketer and umpire in Pakistan.
I hope my achievement inspires countless women who aspire to make their mark in the sport. This event reflects women's growing impact in cricket, as well as the PCB's dedication to promoting their development.
Career
Imtiaz began her umpiring career with the PCB women's panel in 2008 and has also officiated in the 2022 Asia Cup and the 2023 ACC Emerging Women's Cup in Hong Kong.
Imtiaz has officiated 22 T20Is, 16 on the field and six as a TV umpire. Her most recent match as an on-field umpire was the Women's Asia Cup Final at Dambulla.

Imtiaz's nomination qualifies her to officiate at women's bilateral international matches and ICC women's competitions.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) appoints the International Panel of ICC Development Umpires. Established in 2005, its members are recruited mostly (but not only) from the organization's associate members.
It exists alongside and is intended to provide a career route into the Elite Panel of ICC Umpires.
India’s Presence
Narayanan Janani and Vrinda Rathi are also on India's panel of ICC development umpires for 2024-25.
