Description
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched India's first Namo Bharat Rapid Rail line, which will connect Ahmedabad and Bhuj on September 16, 2024. Known as the Vande Metro, this new train travels 360 kilometres in 5 hours and 45 minutes, stopping at nine stations along the way. Modi also launched off many Vande Bharat Express trains on new lines, such as Nagpur-Secunderabad, Kolhapur-Pune, and Pune-Hubballi, as well as a 20-coach Vande Bharat train from Varanasi to Delhi.
Namo, Bharat Rapid Rail
The Namo Bharat Rapid Rail, formerly known as the Bhuj-Ahmedabad Vande Metro, will begin function from Bhuj at 05:05 a.m. and arrive in Ahmedabad Junction at 10:50 am. It will go at a maximum speed of 110 km/h and stop at nine stations along the way.
The Kolhapur-Pune Vande Bharat Express
Train No. 20673 (Kolhapur to Pune) will begin service on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Mondays beginning September 19, 2024. Departure: 08:15; arrival: 13:30.
Train No. 20674 (Pune to Kolhapur) begins on September 18, 2024, and runs triweekly on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Departure: 14:15 hrs, arrival: 19:40 hrs.
Stops: Miraj, Sangli, Kirloskarwadi, Karad, and Satara.
Vande Bharat has eight coaches.
Pune-Hubballi Vande Bharat Express
Train No. 20670 (Pune to Hubballi): Starting September 19, 2024, tri-weekly on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Mondays. Departure: 14:15 hrs, arrival: 22:45 hrs.
Train No. 20669 (Hubballi to Pune) will run every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday beginning September 18, 2024. Departure: 05:00; Arrival: 13:30.
Stops: Satara, Sangli, Miraj, Belagavi, and Dharwad.
Vande Bharat has eight coaches.
The Vande Bharat Express Runs From Nagpur To Secunderabad
Train No. 20101 (Nagpur to Secunderabad) will run six days a week from September 19, 2024, except on Tuesdays. Departure: 05:00 hrs; arrival: 12:15 hrs.
Train No. 20102 (Secunderabad to Nagpur) will also run six days a week, except on Tuesdays, beginning September 19, 2024. Departure: 13:00 hrs, arrival: 20:20 hrs.
Halts include Sevagram, Chandrapur, Ballarshah, Ramagundam, and Kazipet.
Composition: 20 Vande Bharat coaches.
New Delhi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express
The 20-coach Vande Bharat Express, built in Chennai's Integral Coach Factory, would replace one of the current routes between New Delhi and Varanasi. The new train, painted orange and grey, is intended to improve rail travel for commuters, professionals, and students.
Prime Minister Modi's Address
Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of this initiative as part of India's "Amrit Kal," which aims to make India a developed nation within 25 years. He stressed Gujarat's critical role in this agenda and praised recent infrastructure developments.
