Mr. V. Srinivas, Secretary of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), received the Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar from the Hon'ble Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah, on September 14, 2024, at the Hindi Diwas Celebrations at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

This award honored DARPG's outstanding accomplishment in promoting the use of Hindi as the Official Language of the Ministry of Home Affairs in 2023-24. DARPG's dedication to executing the Official Language Policy is evident in its many measures, such as checking language compliance and promoting Hindi usage across its sections and offices.

Official Language Execution Measures

The agency established a Hindi Advisory Committee and an Official Language Implementation Committee to monitor Hindi usage, with quarterly progress reviews.
Quarterly Progress Reports (QPRs) and annual evaluation reports on Hindi usage are routinely given to the Department of Official Language.

Hindi Promotions And Initiatives

The department celebrated Hindi Fortnight from September 14th to September 28th, 2023, with 88 people competing in five contests. Four workshops were given to promote Hindi usage, and 62 of 66 policemen displayed Hindi competence. In addition, personnel were given individual directives to do all of their job in Hindi, with reward systems for original work done in Hindi.

Publications And Documentation

All papers issued under Section 3(3) of the Official Languages Act of 1963 are multilingual. E-office communications, reports, and other documents, such as the accomplishment booklet (2014-2023), National e-Service Delivery Assessment, and CPGRAMS reports, are published in Hindi.

Other Efforts To Promote Hindi

To promote a Hindi-friendly workplace, plaques have been erected in offices, and daily translations of English terms into Hindi are presented.

The department's communication on sites like as Twitter and Facebook is multilingual, and calls to 20 lakh persons about public issues are made in Hindi.

Significant events

International Women's Day was commemorated on March 8, 2024. In addition, the department is working on integrating the e-office with Kanthasth software and making short Hindi films on best practices. DARPG is in full compliance with the Official Language Policy as a result of these efforts.
