Description
The Ministry of Women and Child Development has received the National Award for e-Governance 2024 (Gold) for their digital program, Poshan Tracker. This program, part of Mission Poshan 2.0, allows for real-time monitoring of children's growth, with an emphasis on those aged 0 to 6. Using WHO growth charts, the program monitors critical anthropometric data such as height and weight, allowing Anganwadi Workers to detect nutritional abnormalities early and intervene quickly. The program has reached important milestones, affecting 8.9 crore youngsters, with 8.57 crore measured in just one month.
Poshan Tracker Initiative
The Poshan Tracker, an ICT-based device, is critical in assuring the early detection of growth abnormalities in children. With Growth Measuring Devices (GMD) provided at each Anganwadi Center (AWC), reliable data entry and ongoing monitoring are carried out to provide targeted nutritional interventions. The effort has had significant achievements, resulting in better health and nutritional outcomes for millions of children.

Mission Poshan 2.0, which includes the Poshan Tracker, is revolutionizing children's health by focusing on early health issue detection, nutritional assessment, and developmental milestone tracking. Its broad scope demonstrates the program's dedication to promoting healthier futures for India's youngest residents.
Poshan Maah & Poshan Pakhwada
In addition to the Poshan Tracker, awareness initiatives such as Poshan Maah (September) and Poshan Pakhwada (March) promote nutrition. Since 2018, approximately 100 crore nutrition-related activities have been reported through various initiatives, hence increasing the program's impact.
