• From phosphorylated tau217 (p-tau217) to non-phosphorylated tau21

• Two types of amyloid-beta (AB42 and AB40).

• These proteins are important indications of Alzheimer's pathology, allowing the test to reliably diagnose the illness.

Clinical Validation

In a survey of 1,213 patients receiving cognitive examination, over half showed symptoms of Alzheimer's. The novel blood test outperformed established methods, achieving 91% accuracy compared to 73% for dementia specialists and 61% for primary care providers. As more studies are completed, this blood test has the potential to transform how Alzheimer's disease is detected and treated. It is projected to make diagnosis more economical and accessible, albeit availability may vary by area, particularly in nations where advanced diagnostic techniques are less popular.
