Description
The IGNOU School of Agriculture has designed a degree program in food safety. Such a programme is now unavailable through traditional, online, or ODL modes of instruction.
The BSc (Food Safety and Quality Management) (BSCFFSQM) curriculum, which is the first of its type, will be available in both January and July sessions beginning in July 2024. The institution promises to be the first to offer Bachelor's degree programs in food safety and quality management, making the proposed degree course a one-of-a-kind endeavor. The food safety and quality management bachelor's degree curriculum was designed to fulfill the educational needs of various food processing and food safety industry stakeholders.
Under FYUP, the programme (major) must last at least three years. However, the candidate has the option of finishing the programme within eight years. Enrollment in the programme will require 10+2 with a Science/Agriculture subject or its equivalent.

Food safety team leader/member in food industry/hospitality institutions
Food safety officer/inspector in Regulatory bodies
Auditor in certification and inspection bodies
Trainer/Counsellor in training/counselling bodies.
Member of supply chain management team in retail chain/ industry
Self-Employment as certifying professionals, counsellor, trainer, auditor
