Description
The Indian government has formally accepted Lt Gen NS Raja Subramani as the next Vice Chief of Army Staff. He'll start his new position on June 20. This decision was made as Lt. Gen. Upendra Dwivedi, who is currently Vice Chief, prepares to become Chief of Army Staff (COAS) after Gen. Manoj Pande retires on June 30.
Career Of Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani
Lt Gen Subramani is the current commander of the Army's Central Command. His military education has included training at the National Defence Academy, Indian Military Academy, Joint Services Command Staff College in Bracknell, UK, and the National Defence College in New Delhi. He also has a Master of Arts from King's College in London and an MPhil in Defence Studies from Madras University. His remarkable military career spans 37 years, and he has held leadership at numerous levels. Notably, he led a battalion during Operation Rhino in Assam, an infantry brigade along the International Border with Pakistan, and a Black Cat division in Northeast India. His top leadership positions include leading the Uttar Bharat Area and the famous Kharga Corps in Ambala.
