Subodh Kumar Singh, the Director General of the National Testing Agency, was ousted from his position on June 22 following a scandal about exam irregularities. Subodh Kumar Singh's services have been placed on "compulsory wait" in the Department of Personnel and Training, according to a letter from the government. Pradeep Singh Kharola, Chairman and MD of the India Trade Promotion Organisation, has been handed the additional job of NTA DG till a regular incumbent is appointed or until further orders.

The Centre Organized An Expert Group
The Union Ministry of Education has formed a high-level expert group to ensure that examinations are conducted transparently, smoothly, and fairly. Dr. K Radhakrishnan, former Chairman of ISRO and Chairman of the Board of Governors at IIT Kanpur, will lead the panel of seven experts. Dr. Randeep Guleria, Former Director, AIIMS Delhi; Prof. B J Rao, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Hyderabad; Prof. Ramamurthy K, Professor Emeritus, Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Madras; Pankaj Bansal, Co-Founder, People Strong and Board Member- Karmayogi Bharat; Prof. Aditya Mittal, Dean Student Affairs, IIT Delhi; and Govind Jaiswal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Education, are the other constituent members.
Issue With Paper Leaks
The NEET examination was held on May 5 across 4,750 centres, with around 24 lakh students taking part. The results were supposed to be released on June 14, however they were announced on June 4, claiming that the review of the answer sheets had been completed sooner. As many as 67 students got a perfect 720, an unprecedented number in NTA history, with six from a center in Haryana's Faridabad making the list, sparking concerns of fraud. It has been claimed that grace marks contributed to 67 students sharing the top spot. The NTA administers the NEET-UG examination for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other relevant courses at both government and private institutions across the country.
