Description
The National Testing Agency postponed National Common Entrance Test (NCET) 2024, which was supposed to take place on June 12 from 02:00 to 05:00 pm. The NTA announced that the exam was postponed due to 'technical problems'.
This exam was rescheduled after it had begun in certain centers. NTA argues that because there were 66 subjects, “too many question papers to be uploaded and in that process we faced some technical issues. The technicians quickly realised that question papers for some centres were not getting uploaded, so we decided to postpone the exam," a top NTA official told.
This year, 40,233 applicants applied to the NCET 2024. According to biometric registration information, about 29,000 candidates took the exam at 292 centers spread across 160 cities in the country. New date for the NCET 2024 will be shared shortly via the official NCET homepage. Once released, new ate will be updated at the official website.
NCET 2024 is designed for admission to the 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) at selected Central/State Universities/Institutions, including IITs, NITs, RIEs, and Government Colleges, for the academic year 2024-25. It has 66 different subjects. These included 38 languages, 26 Domain subjects, a General Test, and a Teaching Aptitude Test. Each candidate was needed to take seven topics: two languages, three domain subjects, one general test, and one teaching aptitude test.
