About Dr. Helen Mary Roberts
Dr. Helen Mar Roberts is a senior pathologist of the Pakistan Army Medical Corps, Brig. She has been in the Army for 26 years. The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistan Armed Forces' media and public relations department, stated that the brigadier was "another living example of merit and national representation" in the Army. The ISPR statement went on to say that Dr. Roberts finds it an honor to serve her country and nation, emphasizing that decisions inside the Pakistan Army are made without regard for religious, language, or gender bias.
Prior to Brigadier Robert's elevation, Major-General Nigar Johar became the first female officer appointed to lieutenant general in 2020, breaking gender barriers in Pakistan's male-dominated army. In addition, the officer was appointed the Army's first female surgeon general.
According to figures given by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics in 2021, Muslims comprise 96.47 percent of the population, followed by 2.14 percent Hindus, 1.27 percent Christians, 0.09 percent Ahmadi Muslims, and 0.02 percent others.
