Description
The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT-D), in collaboration with its international campus in Abu Dhabi, has launched its first Bachelor of Technology (BTech) program for the 2024-25 academic year. The cooperation will provide two bachelor's degree programs: BTech in Computer Science and Engineering and BTech in Energy Engineering.
These programs will help students address energy concerns, build the next digital era, and create software to improve a variety of industries, including analytics, finance, encryption, and information technology.
Furthermore, it will provide undergraduate students with a variety of solutions to address rising demand in critical fields such as energy and digitalisation.
The BTech in Energy Engineering program offers a variety of engineering verticals to meet various interests, with a focus on sustainability to address current difficulties in energy production and management. The BTech in Computer Science and Engineering program blends theoretical and practical abilities, with a focus on AI and machine learning, to provide students with the abstraction, computational thinking, and problem-solving approaches required to navigate today's digital terrain.
In 2023, IIT Delhi and the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) collaborated with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) to highlight the importance of this newly launched master's program and the partners' shared commitment to developing qualified workforce in the UAE.
IIT-Delhi has launched several outreach programs for students in the UAE. Short courses and executive programmes for the industry are anticipated to begin soon, according to the institute. Aside from these courses, the Abu Dhabi campus provides a variety of additional engineering, scientific, and humanities subjects, including energy and sustainability, artificial intelligence, computer science and engineering, healthcare, mathematics and computing.
