Description
Wipro, a global IT company, has announced Vinay Firake's appointment as CEO of its Asia Pacific, India, Middle East, and Africa (APMEA) strategic market unit (SMU), effective immediately. Firake will report directly to Srini Pallia, Wipro's CEO and Managing Director, and will also serve on the company's executive board.
Succeeding Anis Chenchah
Firake's appointment comes as the previous CEO of the APMEA SMU, Anis Chenchah, steps down to pursue possibilities outside the organization.
About Vinay Firake
Vinay Firake has over 26 years of experience with Wipro, having held different leadership positions across the globe. He will be located in Dubai for his new position.
Firake most recently served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Wipro-Nordics Business Unit in Stockholm, where he handled operations spanning sectors and services. Prior to that, he oversaw the Manufacturing & Automotive Business Unit in Europe and had a variety of positions in Europe and North America.

On April 6, 2024, Srini Pallia was appointed CEO and Managing Director, succeeding Thierry Delaporte.
Malay Joshi was appointed CEO of Americas 1, Wipro's largest and fastest-growing market, in April 2024, succeeding Srini Pallia.
