Manipur Education(Schools) Director Laishram Nandakumar Singh and education department officials announced the results of class 12 examinations conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) on May 13. The results are available on the official website.
The pass percentage in all streams this year is 97.63%, with Thoubal district having the highest number at 99.58 percent, followed by Bishnupur district at 99.19 percent.Ukhrul district has a minimum pass rate of 85.95 percent. In 2023, the pass percentage was 88.68%.
The overall pass percentage of government higher secondary schools is 95.49 percent, but the pass percentage of non-government schools is 98.18 percent.Girl students outperformed boys in both government and non-government higher secondary schools.
A total of 31,128 students appeared for the COHSEM-conducted class 12 exam. Malemnganbi Laishram of Comet School in Imphal topped the science stream examination with a score of 493.
Aiena Naorem of Kakching Higher Secondary School topped the commerce examination with 447 marks, while Thokchom Sheityajit of Enlighten Knowledge Higher Secondary School topped the arts stream with 477 marks.
Director Education (Schools) Laishram Nandakumar Singh officially declared the results at the COHSEM office in Imphal this afternoon, praising the teachers' and officials' efforts to ensure the exam ran well.
“This year’s pass percentage is one of the highest in the history of COHSEM,” says Director Nandakumar. The pass percentage in Arts stream was 94.35percent, Science stream 98.91 percent and Commerce stream 93.51 percent.”
He congratulated the successful candidates and post holders on their efforts, and wished the successful students a prosperous future.
Regarding the increase in pass percentages among students in the state this year compared to prior years, COHSEM Chairman T Ojit Singh Singh agreed that changing the question structure could be one of the reasons. COHSEM and education department officials were also present for the exam results announcement.
