The Lacchu Maharaj Award, established in commemoration of the renowned kathak performer Lacchu Maharaj, was not granted after 2014. Thus, the Pandit Lacchu Maharaj Ballet Foundation has decided to award ten individuals this year. Due to COVID-19, no awards for 2020 have been announced. The prize recipients are-

The decision to commemorate these outstanding individuals was made at a meeting presided over by Professor. Mandavi Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Bhatkhande Sanskriti University in Lucknow. The secretary of the Pt. Lachhu Maharaj Ballet Foundation and Pandit Lachhu Maharaj's senior disciple, Kumkum Adarsh, attended the conference.
