The International Cricket Council (ICC) has named Indian cricket legend Yuvraj Singh as an ambassador for the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. The announcement comes just 36 days before the highly anticipated global T20 cricket tournament begins.

Yuvraj Singh's appointment as an ambassador is particularly significant because it honors his memorable accomplishment of smashing six sixes in one over during India's victorious campaign at the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007.
Ambassador's Role
As an ambassador, Yuvraj Singh will take part in a number of thrilling World Cup promotional activities in the United States leading up to and during the T20 tournament. One of the highlights will be his attendance at the highly anticipated India-Pakistan match in New York on June 9.
Yuvraj Singh’s Excitement
Expressing his excitement, Yuvraj Singh stated, “Some of my fondest cricketing memories have come from playing at the T20 World Cup, including hitting six sixes in an over, so it’s very exciting to be part of this edition, which is set to be the biggest one yet.”
He further added, “The West Indies is a great place to play cricket with the fans creating a unique vibe, while cricket is also expanding in the USA, and I’m excited to be part of that growth through the T20 World Cup.”
The T20 World Cup 2024
The ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 will be a historic event, with co-hosts the United States facing Canada in the opening match on June 1 at Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas. 20 teams will compete in 55 matches over nine venues, with the final taking place on June 29 in Barbados.
