Description
The Uttar Pradesh state administration has changed school schedules in response to the state's rising temperatures. Schools in Lucknow will operate from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm. beginning on April 25, 2024, for students in grades 1–12. The decision was made to safeguard students from the heat after heatstroke instances were recorded in various locations of the state.
According to the District Magistrate of Lucknow, Surya Pal Gangwar, the decision was made as a preventive measure in response to rising daytime temperatures. According to the announcement, the rule would apply to all schools, including those operated by other boards, until further notice. District officials have also underlined the importance of the revised schedules in protecting children' safety.
Several other states in Uttar Pradesh have also agreed to change the educational schedule. District magistrates in numerous locations have given rulings to change the school hours from preschool to class eight. Some schools will operate from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm, while others will remain open until 1:00 pm.
