Description
The Department of Economics at Jamia Millia Islamia has placed all of its fourth batch of MSc Banking and Financial Analytics (BFA) students in internship positions.
According to the statement, all MSc BFA 4 semester (2022-2024) students have secured internships at nationalised banks, including Indian Bank, as well as corporate companies such as Genpact, CRISIL Ltd, GFK, Acxiom Consulting, and RevFin.
About Course
To provide an industry immersed experience, the whole four semesters of the course are committed to industry internships and capstone projects, allowing course participants to fine-tune their classroom abilities and become industry-ready.
MSc BFA is a two-year master's programme offered by the Department from 2019. The programme's content is closely matched with the growing needs of the analytics industry. The course focuses on developing students' 360-degree skills for the analytics industry. In addition, students who study applied finance and advanced statistics are taught how to use tools such as R, Python, Stata, SQL, and PowerBI for data administration, visualization, and quantitative modeling. Students are also taught about modern data science technologies like machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI).
Meanwhile, the Residential Coaching Academy (RCA), Centre for Coaching and Career Planning, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), is accepting online applications for free coaching (including a hostel) to prepare for the UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary-cum-Main) examination 2024. According to the revised schedule, candidates now have till June 19 to submit their online applications for Jamia's free UPSC coaching.
