The Election Commission has initiated a special drive in Himachal Pradesh to increase voter turnout in 414 polling stations where less than 60% of voters participated in the previous Lok Sabha elections.

Increasing the number of polling sites to 7,990, including 150 monitored solely by female officials.
54 stations will be assigned to young officers, with 29 going to officers with disabilities.
Special Voting Facilities
Providing home voting facilities for PWD voters and those over the age of 85.
The state serves 56,320 people with disabilities and 60,995 voters over the age of 85.
Voter Demographics And Projections
Total eligible voters: 56,38,422, including men, women, and third-gender people.
Notable demographics include 1,38,918 first-time votes and 10,40,756 voters aged 20 to 29.
Expected increase In youth Voters
- We anticipate an increase in youth voters as advance applications from the 17-plus age group reach 18 are received.
Electoral Regulations And Expenditure Limits
- Rs 95 lakh for Lok Sabha elections and Rs 40 lakh for assembly bypolls.
Unique Polling Stations In Extreme Locations
- The highest polling station in the country is Tashigang in Lahaul and Spiti, which is at an elevation of 15,256 feet.
Vote Distribution
- Manola voting station in Dalhousie has the most voters (1,410), while Kaa polling station in Kinnaur has the fewest (16).
